Human spiking<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The troublesome one<\/p>\n Begins in soil<\/p>\n And ends in flight<\/p>\n The damage is done in the bedroom<\/p>\n With eyes to the stars.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pointed down<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pointed parasites where politicians played<\/p>\n Dressed up like old thespians, worn overcoats<\/p>\n Bedraggled jester hats adorned every slug infested<\/p>\n Speech, which the people swallowed and gorged, desperate<\/p>\n For belief. Blighted cries, whereforartthou<\/i><\/p>\n Hollow, turgid disappointment<\/p>\n Until next time.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Assumptions were made and admissions transcribed,<\/p>\n The bill passed, credit please, and all was quiet again, until the escalated interest<\/p>\n Was revealed and the unfolding of the deal, disorderly conduct,<\/p>\n Without the arrest.<\/p>\n Sanctioned fiscal genocide, how could they<\/i>, send \u2018em down the river<\/i><\/p>\n Bonds were misplaced and misguided trusts, now swapped, swimming upstream.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We know where this will go, yet there\u2019s always hope, in a new beaming face promise.<\/p>\n Create, tear down, seek and destroy, has always been the standard fare, bangers and mash<\/p>\n If you please, steadfast they go on, changing the tune, as we don\u2019t see the parallels, blinded<\/p>\n by faith, which of course, is the only way forward, as our meals are served lukewarm and we blame it on the waiter.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thirst for a dead label<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Peering back<\/p>\n Through the open door<\/p>\n The one that\u2019s never closed<\/p>\n Yet you\u2019re reluctant to revisit<\/p>\n Nostalgia comes with its own dangers<\/p>\n Rose colored perceptions have their benefits<\/p>\n Yet a longing for what was<\/p>\n The pull to the deep forging beginnings<\/p>\n Leaves the now<\/p>\n Tasteless<\/p>\n Bland<\/p>\n And spiritually empty.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It\u2019s a place too comfortable<\/p>\n Never to be topped<\/p>\n And best avoided<\/p>\n Until the point<\/p>\n When going on is not an option<\/p>\n And going back is a necessity.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Improve on original<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is how it goes<\/p>\n In paradise<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Gritty<\/p>\n Laden with experience<\/p>\n Events to share<\/p>\n Now and always<\/p>\n Without recourse<\/p>\n As stories<\/p>\n Are always glory laden<\/p>\n Devoid of guilt<\/p>\n Or repercussions<\/p>\n Nor denigration of reputation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Another deluded<\/p>\n Day<\/p>\n Before destiny.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Well planned foundations<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Those days<\/p>\n When you\u2019re far too tired<\/p>\n To make a decision<\/p>\n Let alone fight<\/p>\n As you knew it all yesterday<\/p>\n But now you remember nothing.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When you possessed more than hope<\/p>\n A victory<\/p>\n Encircling the palm<\/p>\n Close to a fist seizure<\/p>\n With the next step<\/p>\n Ready to follow<\/p>\n The previous one.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Those planned days ahead<\/p>\n Collapsed in cracks<\/p>\n Tomorrow<\/p>\n The worst of all<\/p>\n Sense<\/p>\n Being the first victim<\/p>\n And now there\u2019s no plotting<\/p>\n An initial step<\/p>\n Let alone<\/p>\n A successful<\/p>\n Connecting dot trail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" by Anthony J.
