Whedon, <em>Buffy, spaima vampirilor<\/em> \u0219i <em>Angel<\/em> s-au remarcat nu doar printr-un puternic impact \u00een domeniul cultural-artistic (inclusiv la nivel academic), ci \u0219i prin numeroase controverse, st\u00e2rnite pe mai multe planuri.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pentru o analiz\u0103 exhaustiv\u0103 fie \u0219i numai a controverselor men\u021bionate (f\u0103r\u0103 a mai lua vreo clip\u0103 \u00een calcul analiza serialelor \u00een ansamblu!), ar fi necesare volume \u00eentregi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Din acest motiv, ne vom opri, \u00een cele care urmeaz\u0103, doar asupra c\u00e2torva aspecte de natur\u0103 spiritual\u0103 referitoare la cele dou\u0103 seriale, aspecte care au n\u0103scut teorii \u00eendr\u0103zne\u021be \u0219i \u00eenfocate dezbateri.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Introducere<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Buffy, spaima vampirilor<\/em> (<em>Buffy, the Vampire Slayer<\/em>, 1997-2003) urm\u0103re\u0219te aventurile comico-tragico-macabre ale unei tinere \u201ealese\u201d care, \u00eempreun\u0103 cu mentorul ei \u0219i cu un grup de prieteni, lupt\u0103 \u00eempotriva vampirilor \u0219i a creaturilor \u00eentunericului.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Angel<\/em> (1999-2004) p\u0103streaz\u0103 unele personaje din <em>Buffy<\/em> \u0219i urm\u0103re\u0219te aventurile comico-tragico-macabre ale unui vampir \u201ecu suflet\u201d care, \u00een speran\u021ba isp\u0103\u0219irii unui trecut malefic, \u00ee\u0219i dedic\u0103 via\u021ba etern\u0103, sprijinit de un grup de prieteni \u0219i vegheat din umbr\u0103 de for\u021be misterioase, \u201eajutor\u0103rii celor f\u0103r\u0103 de ajutor\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Postmodernism existen\u021bialist <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Postmodernismul se caracterizeaz\u0103, \u00een primul r\u00e2nd, prin faptul c\u0103 reprezentan\u021bii acestui curent cultural \u00ee\u0219i construiesc operele exploat\u00e2nd crea\u021bii anterioare, la care se raporteaz\u0103 cu ironie ori cu scopul r\u0103sturn\u0103rii valorilor acestora, prin mijloace de expresie artistic\u0103 (pe care le consider\u0103) inovative.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vgy.me\/TihIvD.jpg?resize=800%2C909&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"800\" height=\"909\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Valoarea de simplu divertisment a curentului este uneori dep\u0103\u0219it\u0103 tocmai prin informa\u021biile culturale oferite cu privire la operele \u00eenainta\u0219ilor \u0219i prin virtuozitate stilistic\u0103, alteori nefiind, \u00eens\u0103, nici m\u0103car atins\u0103, din pricina unui activism (\u00een majoritatea cazurilor, social-politic) evident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Inspir\u00e2ndu-se, direct ori indirect, din filme \u0219i seriale precum <em>Foamea<\/em> (<em>The Hunger<\/em>, 1983), <em>Suflete pierdute<\/em> (<em>The Lost Boys<\/em>, 1987), <em>Subspecii<\/em> (<em>Subspecies<\/em>, 1991), <em>Povestea unui vampir<\/em> (<em>Tale of a Vampire<\/em>, 1992), <em>Pururea noapte<\/em> (<em>Forever [K]night<\/em>, 1992-1996) ori <em>Interviu cu un vampir<\/em> (<em>Interview with the Vampire<\/em>, 1994) [1], <em>Buffy<\/em> \u0219i <em>Angel<\/em> poart\u0103, indiscutabil, amprenta postmodernismului \u2013 sunt seriale ludice \u0219i rebele prin excelen\u021b\u0103, totodat\u0103 experimentale din punct de vedere compozi\u021bional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Existen\u021bialismul se caracterizeaz\u0103, \u00een primul r\u00e2nd, prin faptul c\u0103 reprezentan\u021bii acestui curent filozofic a\u0219az\u0103 mai presus de orice libertatea individului, ajung\u00e2ndu-se, astfel, nu de pu\u021bine ori, la nihilism \u0219i chiar la absurdism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vgy.me\/UGbuL8.jpg?resize=795%2C1000&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"795\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Crea\u021bii ale unui feminist, ateu, absurdist \u0219i existen\u021bialist recunoscut \u2013 ne referim aici, desigur, la Whedon \u2013, cele dou\u0103 seriale care fac obiectul prezentului studiu poart\u0103, indiscutabil, amprenta existen\u021bialismului \u2013 fiind dominate de mesaje cu caracter liberal, libertarianist sau chiar libertin (aspect asupra c\u0103ruia vom reveni, poate, cu alt\u0103 ocazie).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00centr-un univers cultural de acest tip, valorile literaturii gotico-romantice, care \u00ee\u0219i au sorgintea \u00een spiritualitatea (v\u0103zut\u0103 \u00een sens larg, nu neap\u0103rat strict religios) cre\u0219tin\u0103 medieval\u0103 (de altfel, unul dintre sensurile cuv\u00e2ntului englezesc \u201egothic\u201d este chiar acela de \u201emedieval\u201d, a\u0219adar, \u201eapar\u021bin\u00e2nd unei epoci istorice care, \u00een Europa cel pu\u021bin, a fost dominat\u0103 de credin\u021ba \u0219i de morala cre\u0219tine\u201d) nu pot avea, s-ar spune, un alt rol dec\u00e2t acela de \u201e\u021bint\u0103\u201d a parodiei \u2013 ori a satirei \u2013 postmodernisto-existen\u021bialiste.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A\u0219a s\u0103 fie?&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vgy.me\/2eGC8N.jpg?resize=611%2C1024&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"611\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Mitologie <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00cen lumea fantastic\u0103 a serialelor <em>Buffy<\/em> \u0219i <em>Angel<\/em> \u00eent\u00e2lnim o sumedenie de creaturi fabuloase \u0219i de divinit\u0103\u021bi, \u00een marea lor majoritate de esen\u021b\u0103 p\u0103g\u00e2n\u0103 (precre\u0219tin\u0103) \u0219i neop\u0103g\u00e2n\u0103: de la vampiri \u0219i v\u00e2rcolaci, p\u00e2n\u0103 la spiritele \u201eloa\u201d tipice practicilor haitiene \u201evudu\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nu \u00eei \u00eent\u00e2lnim, \u00eens\u0103, pe Dumnezeu, pe \u00eengerii acestuia ori pe diavol \u2013 sau cel pu\u021bin a\u0219a pare la o prim\u0103 vedere.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00cen fapt, o vizionare atent\u0103 a celor dou\u0103 seriale relev\u0103 faptul c\u0103 \u201euniversul Buffy\u201d este unul eclectic, inspir\u00e2ndu-se din mai multe mitologii, f\u0103r\u0103 \u00eens\u0103 a se conforma cu adev\u0103rat vreuneia: de pild\u0103, zeit\u0103\u021bi antice, precum Hera (Grecia [2]) ori Ra (Egipt [3]), \u0219i cele neop\u0103g\u00e2ne, precum Aradia (mi\u0219carea \u201eWicca\u201d [4]), sunt invocate sau men\u021bionate, f\u0103r\u0103 \u00eens\u0103 a juca un rol real \u00een poveste \u2013 aceea\u0219i afirma\u021bie fiind valabil\u0103 \u0219i pentru figuri mitologice cre\u0219tine precum Isus Cristos [5] ori Satana (asupra c\u0103rora vom reveni \u00een alt\u0103 sec\u021biune a prezentului studiu).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vgy.me\/S06HZq.jpg?resize=812%2C976&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"812\" height=\"976\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Poate c\u0103 panteonul p\u0103g\u00e2n, luat \u00een ansamblu, \u00eel domin\u0103 aici (ca num\u0103r de men\u021bion\u0103ri\/invoc\u0103ri\/apari\u021bii) pe cel cre\u0219tin, dar aceasta doar datorit\u0103 faptului c\u0103 este compus din mai multe panteoane [6] distincte.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Privite fiecare dintre acestea \u00een parte, dup\u0103 cum am v\u0103zut mai sus, le descoperim mai degrab\u0103 discrete \u0219i echilibrate, l\u0103s\u00e2nd unor divinit\u0103\u021bi imaginare (Glorificus, Jasmine \u0219.a.) rolul important de jucat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Ocultism<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Practicile ezoterice \u0219i misticismul sunt, \u00een <em>Buffy<\/em> \u0219i <em>Angel<\/em>, parte fireasc\u0103 din via\u021ba protagoni\u0219tilor (\u0219i, desigur, a antagoni\u0219tilor).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Superficial privind lucrurile, p\u0103g\u00e2nismul, neop\u0103g\u00e2nismul \u0219i chiar (sporadic) satanismul pot ap\u0103rea ca fiind \u00eencurajate ori m\u0103car acceptate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nota\u021bi precizarea: \u201eSuperficial privind lucrurile\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00cen fapt, protagoni\u0219tii \u00ee\u0219i exprim\u0103, \u00een repetate r\u00e2nduri, rezerva fa\u021b\u0103 de magie \u0219i fa\u021b\u0103 de vr\u0103jitorie, atr\u0103g\u00e2nd aten\u021bia asupra faptului c\u0103, de obicei, acestea reclam\u0103 un pre\u021b prea mare ori au efect invers celui scontat (dup\u0103 cum pot observa, f\u0103r\u0103 mare dificultate, \u0219i telespectatorii, dac\u0103 urm\u0103resc povestea).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mai mult dec\u00e2t at\u00e2t, \u00eentr-unul dintre episoade, demonul Lorne se adreseaz\u0103 direct publicului de dincolo de ecran, sf\u0103tuindu-l, pe un ton grav, s\u0103 se fereasc\u0103 de practicile oculte [7].<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vgy.me\/BUJfXI.png?resize=812%2C828&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"812\" height=\"828\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Biserica<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Rolul Bisericii cre\u0219tine \u00een lupta \u00eempotriva R\u0103ului este prezentat de Whedon ca fiind unul marginal, \u00een principiu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cre\u0219tinii sunt v\u0103zu\u021bi, de cele mai multe ori, ca bine inten\u021biona\u021bi, dar \u00eempin\u0219i de fanatism c\u0103tre alegeri gre\u0219ite \u0219i grave, chiar imorale (cavalerii bizantini, inchizitorii catolici ai Monseniorului Rivalli, v\u00e2n\u0103torul de vampiri Daniel Holtz).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Totu\u0219i, \u00eent\u00e2lnim, sporadic, \u0219i cre\u0219tini \u201eone\u0219ti\u201d care par a lua parte, discret, con\u0219tient sau nu, la Eternul R\u0103zboi:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2013 un c\u0103lug\u0103r cortonez (medieval), \u201efratele Thelonius\u201d, \u00eel captureaz\u0103 pe demonul Moloch [8];<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2013 cu alt\u0103 ocazie, un \u201efrate Luca\u201d, tot cortonez, trimite informa\u021bii pre\u021bioase despre un anticrist vampiric [9];<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2013 \u201ep\u0103rintele (catolic) Gabriel\u201d este specializat \u00een istoria ora\u0219ului Sunnydale, dar este ucis \u00eenainte de a oferi informa\u021biile c\u0103utate de Buffy [10];<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2013 \u201ep\u0103rintele (catolic) Fredricks\u201d (din Los Angeles) se sacrific\u0103 pentru a salva victima \u00een timpul unui exorcism, \u00een acela\u0219i episod o c\u0103lug\u0103ri\u021b\u0103 catolic\u0103 recunosc\u00e2nd imediat natura vampiric\u0103 a lui Angel [11];<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2013 un \u201ep\u0103rinte Mackie\u201d (din nou, Los Angeles) este men\u021bionat a fi responsabil cu sfin\u021bitul apei \u00eempotriva vampirilor [12].<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Dumnezeu \u0219i supranaturalul biblic <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em>Nu ne vom referi, \u00een cele care urmeaz\u0103, la simbolismul de inspira\u021bie cre\u0219tin\u0103 prezent (\u0219i cu u\u0219urin\u021b\u0103 identificabil) \u00een cele dou\u0103 seriale; vom \u00eencerca s\u0103 ne oprim, pe c\u00e2t posibil, strict asupra elementelor cre\u0219tine concrete care jaloneaz\u0103 povestea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Concret: Dumnezeu nu apare \u00een <em>Buffy<\/em> \u0219i <em>Angel<\/em> \u2013 cel pu\u021bin nu direct.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00centrebat\u0103 cu privire la existen\u021ba lui Dumnezeu, eroina r\u0103spunde sec, la un moment dat: \u201eNu exist\u0103 nici o dovad\u0103 \u00een sensul \u0103sta\u201d [13].<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prin urmare, s-ar putea concluziona c\u0103 \u00een \u201euniversul Buffy\u201d Dumnezeu (ca \u0219i \u00eengerii, de altfel) nu exist\u0103, ceea ce ar fi \u00een perfect\u0103 concordan\u021b\u0103 cu ateismul lui Whedon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dar concluzia ar fi una pripit\u0103.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vgy.me\/Yqct4z.jpg?resize=558%2C834&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"558\" height=\"834\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lipsa de interven\u021bie direct\u0103 a lui Dumnezeu \u00een ac\u021biunile omenirii este \u00een perfect\u0103 armonie cu credin\u021ba cre\u0219tin\u0103 \u0219i cu ideea liberului arbitru; mai mult dec\u00e2t at\u00e2t, chiar aceast\u0103 explica\u021bie a aparentei absen\u021be divine din decor ne este oferit\u0103 de c\u0103tre un mesager al Binelui: \u201eCeea ce se \u00eent\u00e2mpl\u0103 acum, Connor, eu nu pot&#8230; (ofteaz\u0103) Trebuie s\u0103 fie alegerea ta. Po\u021bi opri totul\u201d (spiritul vampiresei Darla, \u00eencerc\u00e2nd s\u0103 \u00eel opreasc\u0103 pe fiul ei \u0219i al lui Angel, tulburatul Connor, s\u0103 participe la comiterea unei crime teribile \u2013 e\u0219ecul \u00een acest sens \u0219i imaginea adolescentului t\u00e2r\u00e2nd fecioara panicat\u0103 c\u0103tre camera de sacrificiu constituie una dintre cele mai tragice scene din cele dou\u0103 seriale, mai ales datorit\u0103 faptului c\u0103 jertfa are, \u00een cele din urm\u0103, loc [14]).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dac\u0103 interven\u021bia divin\u0103 direct\u0103 lipse\u0219te din poveste, nu la fel stau lucrurile cu interven\u021bia divin\u0103 indirect\u0103. Angel este readus pe P\u0103m\u00e2nt, din Iad (vom reveni asupra conceptului) \u00een mod misterios [15] \u0219i, de\u0219i R\u0103ul Primordial \u00ee\u0219i asum\u0103 acest act, declara\u021bia este, probabil, doar o minciun\u0103. Ceea ce este, \u00eens\u0103, cert, este faptul c\u0103 \u00eencercarea lui Angel de a se sinucide p\u0103\u0219ind \u00een lumin\u0103 este oprit\u0103 de o inexplicabil\u0103 furtun\u0103 de z\u0103pad\u0103 (prima din istoria ora\u0219ului Sunnydale!) care acoper\u0103 brusc soarele, \u00een ziua de Cr\u0103ciun, moment \u00een care camera de filmat surprinde o reclam\u0103 cinematografic\u0103 afi\u0219\u00e2nd textul \u201eROAG\u0102-TE\u201d [16].<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Printre alte dovezi circumstan\u021biale ale existen\u021bei lui Dumnezeu \u00een \u201euniversul Buffy\u201d remarc\u0103m: episodul \u00een care descoperim c\u0103 vampirii par a se \u201ena\u0219te\u201d av\u00e2nd \u201econ\u0219tiin\u021ba datoriei\u201d de a se opune Tat\u0103lui Ceresc \u0219i crea\u021biei Sale (\u201eEi bine, nu dumnezeul MEU, pentru c\u0103 \u00eel sfidez, pe el \u0219i \u00eentreaga sa lucrare. Apropo, exist\u0103? Ce se \u0219tie despre asta?\u201d \u2013 vedem aici un vampir \u201eproasp\u0103t\u201d, \u00eenc\u0103 confuz cu privire la propria sa natur\u0103, dar p\u0103r\u00e2nd sigur cu privire la \u201emisiunea\u201d sa) [13]; replica Darlei c\u00e2nd sf\u00e2nta cruce arde, sf\u00e2r\u00e2ind, pieptul vechiului ei tovar\u0103\u0219 de tic\u0103lo\u0219ii (\u201eVezi? Oric\u00e2t de bun b\u0103iat \u00eencerci tu s\u0103 fii, Dumnezeu nu te dore\u0219te!\u201d \u2013 afirma\u021bie nu tocmai adev\u0103rat\u0103, dup\u0103 cum vom vedea \u00een prezentul studiu; mai degrab\u0103, Dumnezeu nu \u00eel dore\u0219te pe vampir \u00ceNC\u0102, deoarece isp\u0103\u0219irea acestuia nu s-a \u00eencheiat) [17]; faptul c\u0103 St\u0103p\u00e2nul (vampirilor) o corupe pe Darla numai dup\u0103 ce, deghizat \u00een preot, se asigur\u0103 c\u0103 t\u00e2n\u0103ra a respins sprijinul Domnului (\u201eE\u0219ti gata s\u0103 te lepezi de Satana \u0219i s\u0103 implori iertarea Domnului?\u201d\/\u201eDomnul nu a f\u0103cut niciodat\u0103 nimic pentru mine&#8230; Sufletul meu nu mai poate fi salvat. Las\u0103 diavolul s\u0103 \u00eel ia, dac\u0103 dore\u0219te\u201d\/\u201eDomnul nu a f\u0103cut niciodat\u0103 nimic pentru tine&#8230; Dar eu am s\u0103 fac\u201d) [18].<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vgy.me\/BTyq2x.jpg?resize=461%2C368&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"461\" height=\"368\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Indiciile \u0219i dovezile nu se opresc, desigur, aici:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Demonul Acathla este ucis de un \u201ecavaler virtuos\u201d, a c\u0103rui sabie, binecuv\u00e2ntat\u0103 de cavaler \u00eenainte de moarte, este utilizat\u0103 ulterior de Buffy pentru a \u00eel \u00eenfr\u00e2nge pe Acathla \u00een momentul \u00eenvierii.
