Mesa (n. 1975), poveste intens\u0103 \u015fi complex\u0103, care te \u0163ine cu sufletul la gur\u0103 de la prima p\u00e2n\u0103 la ultima pagin\u0103 \u015fi care r\u0103m\u00e2ne apoi cu tine, fie c\u0103 vrei, fie c\u0103 nu vrei, fie c\u0103 \u00ee\u0163i este sau nu&#8230; team\u0103.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vgy.me\/a2eUt5.jpg?w=812&#038;ssl=1\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Volumul \u2013 aproape 500 pagini \u2013 este structurat \u00een treisprezece capitole cu titluri excelent alese, incitante \u015fi sugestive: <em>Death (Moarte)<\/em>, <em>The Hangman<\/em><em>\u2019s Tree (Copacul sp<\/em><em>\u00e2nzuratului)<\/em>, <em>Alone (Singur\u0103tate)<\/em>, <em>The Boiler (Cazanul Iadului)<\/em>, <em>The World at Arms (O lume la arme)<\/em>, <em>By the Sword (Prin for\u0163a sabiei)<\/em>, <em>Unequal Deaths (Mor\u0163i necomplementare)<\/em>, <em>The Dream (Lumea visului)<\/em>, <em>Ghosts (Spiritele)<\/em>, <em>The Hunt Throughout Time (V\u00e2n\u0103toare dincolo de Timp)<\/em>, <em>Sadness (Triste\u0163e)<\/em>, <em>Enemies (Du\u015fmani)<\/em>, <em>Ring of Fire (Cercul fl\u0103c\u0103rilor)<\/em>, \u015fi se \u00eencheie cu trimiteri c\u0103tre compozi\u021bii muzicale recomandate drept \u201ecoloan\u0103 sonor\u0103\u201d \u015fi c\u0103tre alte surprize.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stilul scriiturii este ap\u0103s\u0103tor, gotic, totodat\u0103 alert, modern, o combina\u0163ie dificil\u0103 \u015fi fericit\u0103, situat\u0103, din acest punct de vedere, la standardul ridicat de c\u0103tre Stephen King (<em>Salem<\/em><em>\u2019s Lot<\/em>) \u015fi de c\u0103tre George R.R. Martin (<em>Lumina ce se stinge<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00cen ceea ce prive\u015fte povestea propriu-zis\u0103, aceasta \u00eei va \u00eenc\u00e2nta, f\u0103r\u0103 \u00eendoial\u0103, pe admiratorii lui H.P. Lovecraft \u015fi pe aceia ai lui Neil Gaiman.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Intriga, inteligent neliniar\u0103, urm\u0103re\u015fte dou\u0103 planuri principale: primul plan ne aduce \u00een fa\u0163a ochilor povestea tragic\u0103 a unei tinere femei moarte, a c\u0103rei stafie, ajutat\u0103 de un b\u0103tr\u00e2n erou de r\u0103zboi \u015fi de un demon castrat, lupt\u0103 disperat s\u0103 salveze vie\u0163ile \u015fi\/sau sufletele unor copii captura\u0163i de c\u0103tre un uciga\u015f \u00een serie cu puteri supranaturale; cel de al doilea plan, compus din episoade mai scurte sau mai lungi, unele interconectate, altele nu, toate amintind de serialul <em>Dosarele X<\/em>, \u201ealunec\u00e2nd\u201d \u00een istorie \u015fi \u00een lumi paralele, red\u0103 povestea tinerei (anti)eroine moarte \u2013 Andrea Landa \u2013 \u015fi a \u201evie\u0163ii\u201d ei \u00eentr-un alt plan al existen\u0163ei (o trecere c\u0103tre lumea de dincolo, trecere \u00een care Andrea se zbate \u00eenc\u0103p\u0103\u0163\u00e2nat s\u0103 r\u0103m\u00e2n\u0103 pentru a nu pierde definitiv leg\u0103tura cu t\u0103r\u00e2mul nostru), precum \u015fi \u00eent\u00e2mpl\u0103rile care au adus-o pe Andrea pe urma macabr\u0103 a demonolatrului Norton Graves&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ucis\u0103 de so\u0163ul ei gelos drept pedeaps\u0103 pentru nenum\u0103rate fapte de adulter \u2013 ceea ce, ini\u0163ial, ne \u00eenf\u0103\u021bi\u0219eaz\u0103 o \u201eeroin\u0103\u201d destul de antipatic\u0103, a c\u0103rei moarte nu este de natur\u0103 s\u0103 \u00eel impresioneze prea tare pe cititor \u2013, Andrea se treze\u015fte, n\u0103ucit\u0103, \u00eentr-o lume stranie, lume invadat\u0103 de o \u201ecea\u0163\u0103\u201d care pare a o urm\u0103ri pretutindeni, gata s\u0103 o poarte pe un alt t\u0103r\u00e2m misterios \u015fi de temut, poate Raiul, poate Iadul sau, poate, un t\u0103r\u00e2m al Nefiin\u0163ei. \u00cen aceast\u0103 lume intermediar\u0103 numit\u0103 V\u0103lul, Andrea Landa cunoa\u015fte alte fantome, printre care \u015fi pe aceea a lui Antonio Carto, un executat prin sp\u00e2nzurare care \u00eei devine mentor, c\u0103l\u0103uzind-o printre secretele V\u0103lului \u015fi \u00eenv\u0103\u0163\u00e2nd-o cum s\u0103 evite Cea\u0163a. Numai c\u0103 Antonio Carto nu este ceea ce pare s\u0103 fie, nu este nici m\u0103car ceea ce crede el \u00eensu\u015fi c\u0103 este \u2013 \u00eensp\u0103im\u00e2nt\u0103toarea, nea\u015fteptata descoperire o va purta pe Andrea \u00eentr-o c\u0103l\u0103torie teribil\u0103, pe parcursul c\u0103reia va \u00eenv\u0103\u0163a c\u00e2te ceva despre onoare \u015fi despre iubire adev\u0103rat\u0103, devenind un personaj mult mai demn de a fi \u00eendr\u0103git dec\u00e2t fusese la \u00eenceput&#8230; Dar s\u0103 nu anticip\u0103m; s\u0103 not\u0103m doar faptul c\u0103 tot ceea ce se va \u00eent\u00e2mpla pe parcursul romanului are o leg\u0103tur\u0103 direct\u0103 cu Antonio Carto, chiar dac\u0103 nu este vorba despre acel tip de leg\u0103tur\u0103 care s-ar putea b\u0103nui ini\u0163ial.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00cenl\u0103n\u021buit\u0103 \u00eenc\u0103 de t\u0103r\u00e2mul celor vii prin ur\u0103 \u015fi prin dorin\u0163\u0103 de r\u0103zbunare, Andrea Landa afl\u0103 cu groaz\u0103 c\u0103 fosta ei servitoare este agresat\u0103 sexual, \u00een mod repetat, chiar de c\u0103tre stafia tat\u0103lui Andreei \u015fi de c\u0103tre un demon-incitator \u015fi hermafrodit pe nume Gycon \u2013 ceea ce o determin\u0103 pe eroin\u0103 s\u0103 sar\u0103 de \u00eendat\u0103 \u00een ajutorul victimei, apel\u00e2nd la o vr\u0103jitoare-medium, care le mai ajutase pe Andrea \u015fi pe servitoarea acesteia \u00een trecut, odat\u0103 cu primele apari\u0163ii ale stafiei tic\u0103loase a \u201edomnului\u201d Landa (om bun \u015fi corect c\u00e2t tr\u0103ise, transformat \u00eentr-un spirit malefic datorit\u0103 revoltei sim\u021bite fa\u0163\u0103 de propria moarte nedreapt\u0103). \u00centru triumful justi\u0163iei, Andrea se las\u0103 ghidat\u0103 de c\u0103tre vr\u0103jitoare \u00eentr-o nebuneasc\u0103 aventur\u0103 \u00een Iad, la cap\u0103tul c\u0103reia \u015fi tat\u0103l Andreei, \u015fi demonul Gycon \u00ee\u015fi vor g\u0103si cumplit\u0103 pedeaps\u0103&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ulterior, r\u0103t\u0103cind pe P\u0103m\u00e2nt ca spirit vigilent \u015fi r\u0103zbun\u0103tor, Andrea Landa d\u0103 pentru prima oar\u0103 \u201ecu ochii\u201d de Gilbert Giggs, nimeni altul dec\u00e2t viitorul Norton Graves, uciga\u015f ritualistic de copii, pe care dementul \u00eei sacrific\u0103 unui demon spre a \u00ee\u015fi prelungi odioasa via\u0163\u0103. Cu Giggs\/Graves sc\u0103p\u00e2ndu-i totu\u015fi printre degete, Andrea se pierde, o vreme, \u00een dragostea ei pentru eroul romantic Andres Cavanchero, un \u201ecavaler Pardaillan\u201d modern, decis s\u0103 \u00ee\u015fi ucid\u0103 fratele \u00een duel pentru c\u0103 acesta \u00eei dezonorase iubita. \u00cens\u0103 din nou lucrurile sunt mult mai complicate dec\u00e2t par, Primul R\u0103zboi Mondial izbucne\u015fte m\u0103tur\u00e2nd totul \u00een cale, iar cei doi fra\u0163i du\u015fmani \u2013 cel nobil la suflet \u015fi cel dec\u0103zut \u2013 trebuie s\u0103 lupte al\u0103turi contra unui baron german nebun \u015fi tor\u0163ionar, precum \u015fi \u00eempotriva unei amenin\u0163\u0103ri supranaturale \u015fi neimaginate&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vgy.me\/zwG8hA.jpg?w=812&#038;ssl=1\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pagini frumoase \u015fi tragice trec peste \u201etr\u0103irile\u201d \u015fi peste patimile Andreei Landa \u00een lupta ei cu R\u0103ul uman \u015fi cu R\u0103ul de Dincolo; nu vom insista asupra acestora. \u00cens\u0103 povestea revine mereu, obsedant, la uciga\u015ful diabolic \u015fi de neg\u0103sit, Gilbert Giggs alias Norton Graves, h\u0103ituit acum \u015fi de \u201ev\u00e2n\u0103torul de fantome\u201d Michael Carrington, \u015fi de jurnalistul francez Picard, \u015fi de fratele plin de regrete al lui Andres Cavanchero, \u015fi de un St\u0103p\u00e2n al Viselor pe nume Ax (\u00eempreun\u0103 cu aparent caninul s\u0103u servitor), \u015fi de demonul (aspru pedepsit \u015fi proasp\u0103t convertit) Gycon&#8230; De cealalt\u0103 parte, mercenari ai lumii Iadului \u2013 precum ocultistul Conrad Dimas, co\u015fmarul Taranga, vr\u0103jitoarea Boadicea sau demonul frankensteinian cunoscut drept \u201eGr\u0103dinarul\u201d \u2013 \u00eencearc\u0103 s\u0103 pun\u0103 cap\u0103t ac\u0163iunilor justi\u0163iare ale Andreei, o dat\u0103 pentru totdeauna&#8230; totul culmin\u00e2nd cu spectaculoasa \u00eenfruntare din casa \u00een care Norton Graves \u015fi diavolul acestuia \u0163in copii prizonieri, cas\u0103 blestemat\u0103 \u00een care Cea\u0163a p\u0103trunde \u00eencet \u00een timp ce justi\u0163iarii se \u00eempleticesc obosi\u0163i \u015fi, unul c\u00e2te unul, e\u015fueaz\u0103 \u00eens\u00e2ngerat \u00een misiunea lor pur\u0103 \u015fi grotesc damnat\u0103, p\u00e2n\u0103 c\u00e2nd doar o stafie sl\u0103bit\u0103, aproape pierdut\u0103 \u00een neguri, \u015fi explozibilul plantat \u00eenainte de moarte de c\u0103tre un erou crucificat r\u0103m\u00e2n singurii oponen\u0163i ai R\u0103ului Absolut \u00een Lume&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Multe se mai pot spune despre <em>Lumea mor\u0163ilor<\/em>. Dar s-a spus aici destul. Sau poate, totu\u015fi, ar mai trebui o men\u0163iune final\u0103: editura rom\u00e2neasc\u0103 care \u00eel va publica pe Mesa nu are cum s\u0103 dea gre\u015f.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pentru c\u0103 <em>Dead People<\/em> este o carte cum pu\u0163ine altele au mai fost \u00een istoria literaturii.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Not\u0103: Prezentul volum mi-a parvenit prin amabilitatea domnului Cristian Tama\u0219 (Societatea Rom\u00e2n\u0103 de Science Fiction \u0219i Fantasy), c\u0103ruia doresc s\u0103 \u00eei mul\u021bumesc pe aceast\u0103 cale pentru faptul c\u0103 mi-a atras aten\u021bia asupra unei opere cu totul deosebite.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0*<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Despre autorul rubricii: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>OLIVIU CR\u00c2ZNIC <\/strong>(n. 1978; p\u0103rin\u021bii: Oliviu, prof. eviden\u021biat gr. Martin) sau clasice (Algernon Blackwood, Arthur Conan Doyle, Robert E. Howard, Rudyard Kipling, H.P. Lovecraft, Guy de Maupassant, Saki).
