Swedenborg) \u0219i un epilog.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Subiectul <em>Damei de pic\u0103<\/em> (inspirat, se pare, de o anecdot\u0103 care circula \u00een epoc\u0103 pe seama unei cuno\u0219tin\u021be a lui Pu\u0219kin, prin\u021besa Natalia Petrovna Goli\u021bina; de altfel, ulterior, locuin\u021ba prin\u021besei din Sankt Petersburg \u0219i-a c\u00e2\u0219tigat o reputa\u021bie de \u201ecas\u0103 b\u00e2ntuit\u0103\u201d) \u00eel constituie tragedia unui t\u00e2n\u0103r ofi\u021ber obsedat de ideea de a \u00ee\u0219i c\u00e2\u0219tiga averea la jocul de c\u0103r\u021bi \u201efaraon\u201d; prin seduc\u021bie \u0219i violen\u021b\u0103, antieroul ajunge s\u0103 afle, \u00een cele din urm\u0103, secretul faimosului ocultist Saint Germain, ceea ce nu \u00eel va scuti, \u00eens\u0103, de o stranie \u00eentors\u0103tur\u0103 a destinului declan\u0219at\u0103 de r\u0103zbunarea unei stafii.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chiar dac\u0103 este o proz\u0103 de mic\u0103 \u00eentindere, importan\u021ba <em>Damei de pic\u0103<\/em> \u00een istoria culturii este demonstrat\u0103 de faptul c\u0103 a fost adaptat\u0103, \u00een mai multe r\u00e2nduri, at\u00e2t sub forma unor opere muzicale (\u00eentre care una semnat\u0103 de P.I. Ceaikovski), c\u00e2t \u0219i sub forma unor opere cinematografice (ruse\u0219ti, germane, britanice \u2013 cea mai cunoscut\u0103: <em>The Queen of Spades<\/em>, 1949).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dincolo de valoarea cultural\u0103 general\u0103, nuvela lui Pu\u0219kin are o importan\u021b\u0103 aparte pentru istoria goticului \u0219i a fantasticului, deoarece dovede\u0219te, \u00eenc\u0103 o dat\u0103, prin faptul c\u0103 titani incontestabili ai literaturii universale nu au ezitat s\u0103 \u00ee\u0219i a\u0219eze talentul \u00een slujba speciilor literare men\u021bionate, c\u0103 acestea nu constituie \u201eparaliteratur\u0103\u201d ori \u201eliteratur\u0103 de consum\u201d, ci, atunci c\u00e2nd sunt tratate \u00een mod corespunz\u0103tor, beletristic\u0103 la nivel \u00eenalt (se pare c\u0103 \u00eentotdeauna este nevoie de \u00eenc\u0103 o dovad\u0103 de acest fel, cel pu\u021bin pentru critica \u0219i istoria literar\u0103 rom\u00e2neasc\u0103, tributare \u00eenc\u0103, \u00eentr-o m\u0103sur\u0103 semnificativ\u0103, unor judec\u0103\u021bi de valoare tipice epocii comuniste, despre care am discutat detaliat cu alte ocazii).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pe pia\u021ba de carte din \u021bara noastr\u0103, <em>Dama de pic\u0103<\/em> se poate g\u0103si, \u00eentr-o traducere realizat\u0103 de E. Camilar (veche, desigur \u2013 ceea ce este, contrar primei impresii, foarte bine, deoarece traducerile postdou\u0103miiste sunt, de cele mai multe ori, v\u0103dit inferioare celor realizate \u00een secolul trecut), \u00eembog\u0103\u021bit\u0103 cu note informative utile, \u00een volumul <em>Dama de pic\u0103 \u0219i alte povestiri<\/em> (Ed. Litera, Colec\u021bia \u201eCPT \u2013 Carte Pentru To\u021bi\u201d, 2019).
