\nthe branch, memories <\/span><\/p>\n

plough
\ndry through him, they’ve<\/span><\/p>\n

lost
\ntheir green and succulence.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He
\npushes the pen, <\/span><\/p>\n

ruffles
\nhis feathers,<\/span><\/p>\n

wavers
\nin the crisp<\/span><\/p>\n

evening
\nair, which<\/span><\/p>\n

came
\nall too suddenly.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He
\ndoesn’t fight anymore,<\/span><\/p>\n

he<\/span><\/span> has written his story of loss<\/span><\/p>\n

on
\nhis crumbled, body-leaf.<\/span><\/p>\n

He
\nhopes earth would read <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

it<\/span><\/span> loud to the wind, picking <\/span><\/p>\n

it<\/span><\/span> feather by feather, tossing <\/span><\/p>\n

up<\/span><\/span> rot and loss , for all <\/span><\/p>\n

the winging birds to
