Weeds<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Movement swells to decadence;<\/p>\n

Popularity takes tolls,<\/p>\n

Drains a flood of reverence:<\/p>\n

In his grave the Founder rolls.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Scripture sanctions sin and stress<\/p>\n

Where the Great Religions go;<\/p>\n

Rights of Man turn Brutishness,<\/p>\n

Renaissance turns Rococo.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Revolution bangs her drum<\/p>\n

Beating movements left and right.<\/p>\n

Till a Restoration come,<\/p>\n

O, beware the acolyte!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When I Sit, When I Lie<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When I sit my tush<\/p>\n

quite happily<\/p>\n

keeps me on the ground;<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

when I stand,<\/p>\n

the cushions<\/p>\n

of my feet.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And when I lie,<\/p>\n

my front or back<\/p>\n

or sides<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

buffer my mass<\/p>\n

to save me from being<\/p>\n

swallowed by lonely Soil,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

so nostalgic<\/p>\n

for my inexorable<\/p>\n

return.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But when I sleep<\/p>\n

my skull<\/p>\n

can\u2019t hold my dreams.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tushless, footless,<\/p>\n

sans sides or back or front,<\/p>\n

buttressed by mere weeds,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

sleep cannot sit;<\/p>\n

dreams don\u2019t stand still:<\/p>\n

both swirl in fitful starts<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

then sizzle a magic path<\/p>\n

in an instant to the antipodes<\/p>\n

like a drill-nosed mole<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

or soar to the moon<\/p>\n

the stars<\/p>\n

or even You.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t look up<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t look up<\/p>\n

to see the cloud<\/p>\n

that\u2019s not there<\/p>\n

anymore<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

and now I<\/p>\n

never will\u2014<\/p>\n

I never<\/p>\n

can.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But one brand new<\/p>\n

is apt to brew<\/p>\n

tomorrow.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Poem about a Flower<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I never said I<\/p>\n

wouldn\u2019t write<\/p>\n

another flower<\/p>\n

poem, but<\/p>\n

that I would try<\/p>\n

not<\/p>\n

to,<\/p>\n

since you said you thought<\/p>\n

it wasn\u2019t right.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Uh-oh,<\/p>\n

too late.<\/p>\n

What<\/p>\n

to do?<\/p>\n

Where to go?<\/p>\n

Right<\/em>\u2019s a thankless virtue,<\/p>\n

no?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Oh,<\/p>\n

go ahead and remonstrate,<\/p>\n

go round me, or go on<\/p>\n

if you\u2019re really<\/p>\n

mad<\/p>\n

and it\u2019s a going<\/p>\n

kind<\/p>\n

of hour.<\/p>\n

Who but me is really going<\/p>\n

to mind?<\/p>\n

But is it really<\/p>\n

so<\/p>\n

bad,<\/p>\n

since the thing is really<\/p>\n

about us?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Or if there\u2019s nothing really<\/p>\n

to discuss,<\/p>\n

don\u2019t speak<\/p>\n

and I\u2019ll be gone<\/p>\n

in a week<\/p>\n

or two<\/p>\n

like a flower<\/p>\n

you are<\/p>\n
