{"id":14907,"date":"2023-09-14T20:15:57","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T18:15:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/egophobia.ro\/?p=14907"},"modified":"2023-09-16T20:16:51","modified_gmt":"2023-09-16T18:16:51","slug":"poem-by-roger-craik","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/egophobia.ro\/?p=14907","title":{"rendered":"poem by Roger Craik"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Arad, Romania<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At ease on a cracking<\/p>\n<p>splintery bench in the Serbian slums,<\/p>\n<p>with the Old Theatre on the eastern side<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>flaking down into the street,<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m savoring the early sun\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>clarifying warmth.<\/p>\n<p>In the market round the corner,<\/p>\n<p>boxy slabbed caf\u00e9s are serving<\/p>\n<p>rum as well as coffee to the men<\/p>\n<p>who smoke all hours.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s only me, though, in the square.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The pigeon-throating air.<\/p>\n<p>A fountain. Puddled, strewn.
