Last Poem<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Today, while polishing off a Polish doughnut,<\/p>\n

I decided to write my last poem, kind of like<\/p>\n

last will and testament which I\u2019ve perversely<\/p>\n

done many times. Muse, less than amused,<\/p>\n

has gone silent on this black unholy project,<\/p>\n

pouts at any hint of ingratitude. Vows<\/p>\n

silence then issues an audible curse.<\/p>\n

Having taken the requisite antihistamine<\/p>\n

to clear head, I let go all ambition\/pretension,<\/p>\n

circle doglike then settle to do this thing.<\/p>\n

But first I dust desk and cull my collection<\/p>\n

of purchased or purloined pens. Blue only.<\/p>\n

The slaves bleed blue and must now retire,<\/p>\n

even as their master must. I was poised<\/p>\n

to pen free verses, ideas did ideate because<\/p>\n

I was ever ready to receive out or even in-<\/p>\n

spiration. Now I would appreciate any<\/p>\n

morsel from beyond to end this vocation<\/p>\n

in Limbo \u2026 but nothing is presenting.<\/p>\n

So, nothing it is. I understand how<\/p>\n

this business works. Bird droppings<\/p>\n

whiten a nearby steeple where reportedly<\/p>\n

a princess only once danced in heels<\/p>\n

after bobbing for reject Eden apples.<\/p>\n

Princess turned out to be transvestite<\/p>\n

with issues and post-op inserts so,<\/p>\n

adhering to logic, I sidle up and slip<\/p>\n

her my last lines just to keep my word<\/p>\n
