\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have not written,<\/p>\n

as one banished,<\/p>\n

amnestied by the promise of a<\/p>\n

letter to a one-night stand,<\/p>\n

a dull insomniac, numb to words,<\/p>\n

writhing in unconscious lust.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Zigzagged, diverted<\/p>\n

from a lover’s coma<\/p>\n

to mystery lips,<\/p>\n

a perverted aberration,<\/p>\n

wandering, falling again from your fever<\/p>\n

in some frozen solitary trance.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Awake all night,<\/p>\n

wanting morning to heal,<\/p>\n

a sinful sweat forms on my face,<\/p>\n

soaks the words,<\/p>\n

the dawn captures my loins,<\/p>\n

thrusts me back to the flushed<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

dead of night woods,<\/p>\n

by the wanton bonfire.<\/p>\n

I succumb to your pungent imagery,<\/p>\n

your wetness,<\/p>\n

your nonchalance,<\/p>\n

your flesh as mouth and tutor.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Glass Alley<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is a raw smell of<\/p>\n

city sleet and rain.<\/p>\n

The chill wraps the street in<\/p>\n

a thin sheet of needles,<\/p>\n

as chronic taut muscles<\/p>\n

ricket, lumped fetal,<\/p>\n

struggle with every tedious move.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The mind dilates, swells, floats<\/p>\n

through thick, bitter and muddy sky.<\/p>\n

Ice and grease lie stagnant in the streets,<\/p>\n

sparks rise from burning barrels.<\/p>\n

The rats scurry like monkeys,<\/p>\n

feverishly scratch and bite infected<\/p>\n

tracks on skin shriveled, sugar-brown,<\/p>\n

decaying like thawed hung meat.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Meth elevators rise to<\/p>\n

the next echelon,<\/p>\n

synapses shatter, snap,<\/p>\n

angels on the roof<\/p>\n

shoot soul-sought tangents,<\/p>\n

hoping to rape the day,<\/p>\n
