The problem could be caused by her husband<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

they keep taking biopsies. it’s driving her<\/p>\n

crazy she says. it’s not like it’s different<\/p>\n

each time than the last time,<\/p>\n

but they say there’s a risk still<\/p>\n

of cervical cancer, and it means<\/p>\n

she can’t fuck for a week. this is every<\/p>\n

nine months now \u2013 I go crazy myself,<\/p>\n

and we fight more and know why we’re fighting.<\/p>\n

and then it’s her period afterward anyway.<\/p>\n

I just know we will tear ourselves apart.<\/p>\n

she tells me that this time she gave in<\/p>\n

to some instinct and asked if the problem<\/p>\n

could be possibly caused by her husband. I don’t take<\/p>\n

it personally \u2013 I’ll abstain if it means<\/p>\n

she\u2019ll survive. it’s not. there’s a poisonous air<\/p>\n

in our living room, and our bedroom<\/p>\n

and even the lifts. over the river the brewery<\/p>\n

is boiling up hops on a 5pm schedule.<\/p>\n

it’s been going on weeks.<\/p>\n

every day when I get home from work<\/p>\n

the air smells half like biscuits, a bit<\/p>\n

like burned toast and a little like fish<\/p>\n
