Pictor spaniol influent, Garcia domin\u0103 de 40 de ani peisajul artelor plastice. Artistul este un pasionat al trat\u0103rii imaginii vizuale. Dialogul s\u0103u cultural a dus la nenum\u0103rate p\u00e2nze ce reflect\u0103 politica \u015fi via\u0163a. Sursa inspira\u0163iei sale se declin\u0103 din folclor, grafiti, spiritul religiilor indiene, cultura Estului, muzica Nord African\u0103, c\u0103l\u0103toriile sale prin Orientul mijlociu.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\nGarcia este captivat \u00een special de artele primitive, arta  brut\u0103 \u015fi cea tantric\u0103 care se revars\u0103 copios \u00een simbolurile folosite ca de pild\u0103 m\u00e2ini, picioare, s\u0103ge\u0163i, puncte, ro\u0163i \u015fi arbori genealogici tribali. P\u00e2nzele sale sunt populate de impresii personale: insecte, litere, cranii, dar \u015fi formele abstracte abund\u0103. <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\nN\u0103scut \u00een 1949 \u00een Palma de Majorca, Garcia se mut\u0103 la Barcelona ca s\u0103 finalizeze studii de art\u0103 \u00een anul 1960.<br \/>\nEste un oponent al regimului Franco, \u015fi particip\u0103 activ \u00een cadrul &#8220;Centrului de art\u0103 conceptual\u0103 Catalan\u0103&#8221; cu sediul la Barcelona.  \u00cen anii 70 \u00eel g\u0103sim ca un r\u0103zvr\u0103tit al tradi\u0163iei stilistice, el folose\u015fte instala\u0163ia \u00een mod provocativ ironiz\u00e2nd arta muzeal\u0103 preten\u0163ioas\u0103, la mod\u0103 atunci. \u00centr-o \u00eendr\u0103znea\u0163\u0103 apari\u0163ie \u00een anul 1976 Garcia prezint\u0103 5 g\u0103ini sacrificate, m\u00e2njite \u00een s\u00e2nge \u015fi pene,<br \/>\no aluzie la 5 execu\u0163ii politice care \u015focheaz\u0103 intelectualitatea spaniol\u0103.<\/p>\n<p align=center><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i158.photobucket.com\/albums\/t103\/egophobia\/28\/image001.jpg?w=812\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\nDup\u0103 anul 1975, c\u0103derea regimului Franco aduce eliberare \u015fi democra\u0163ie care se reflect\u0103 direct \u00een arta spaniol\u0103.<br \/>\nArta contemporan\u0103 \u00eenflore\u015fte iar Garcia cu mesajele sale socio-economice este descoperit \u015fi promovat interna\u0163ional. Garcia se distinge prin atitudinea artei sale care reformuleaz\u0103 esen\u0163a artelor contemplative. Nega\u0163ia \u015fi inova\u0163ia sunt ingredientele folosite de pictor \u00een dorin\u0163a de a evita manierismul \u015fi compromisul politic al Modernismului spaniol.<br \/>\nEl se \u00eenroleaz\u0103 \u00een tehnici mixte, combin\u00e2nd video proiec\u0163ia cu fotografia \u015fi instala\u0163ia tridimensional\u0103.Spre sf\u00e2r\u015fitul decadei abandoneaz\u0103 instala\u0163iile prefer\u00e2nd desenul \u015fi pictura. Apare \u00een diverse expozi\u0163ii: \u00een 1982 la Barcelona \u015fi Madrid, 1986 &#8211; Bienala de la Vene\u0163ia, 1987- Kassel \u015fi Kilmainham \u00een Irlanda, expozi\u0163ii care \u00eei confer\u0103 recunoa\u015ftere interna\u0163ional\u0103. Alte apari\u0163ii \u00eel duc \u00een Britania, Spania, Fran\u0163a \u015fi Japonia. Anii 1980 sunt decisivi picturii moderne iar Garcia Sevilla conduce mi\u015fcarea numit\u0103  &#8221; re\u00eentoarcere la pictur\u0103 &#8221; \u00eentr-o paralel\u0103 permanent\u0103 cu arti\u015ftii Postmoderni\u015fti considera\u0163i pe atunci avangardi\u015ftii g\u00e2ndirii artistice.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\nDin nou \u00eent\u00e2lnim negare \u015fi radicalizare. P\u00e2nzele lui sunt amalgamuri de real \u015fi imaginar, explicit si aluziv \u00eemp\u0103r\u0163ind acela\u015fi teritoriu plastic. Dup\u0103 1981 Garcia Sevilla \u00eencepe s\u0103 fie interesat de culturile preistorice \u015fi de art\u0103 primitiv\u0103. O serie de p\u00e2nze (Dios que describe circulus) sunt influen\u0163ate de pictura lui Dubuffet \u015fi Enzo Cucchi, arti\u015fti opu\u015fi esteticii agreate de mass media.<\/p>\n<p align=center><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i158.photobucket.com\/albums\/t103\/egophobia\/28\/image003.jpg?w=812\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\nSubiectele sunt acum luate din religii non monoteiste, apar \u015famani, limbi necunoscute, animale mitologice \u015fi doctrine stranii legate \u00eentre ele doar de ra\u0163ionalul con\u015ftiin\u0163ei.<br \/>\nEste aici o metafor\u0103 despre multitudinea de lumi \u015fi religii, pluralism \u015fi acceptare. S\u0103 concepem o personal\u0103 viziune a universului! cere Garcia, nu neap\u0103rat determinist\u0103, ci  lipsit\u0103 de nevoia de teoretizare.<br \/>\n&#8220;Muca &#8220;(1984) ne trimite \u00een lumea inscrip\u0163iilor graffiti care apar \u00een Europa \u015fi Americi ca un strig\u0103t protestatar. Sarcasmul este \u00eencastrat \u00een textul tabloului: &#8220;Dac\u0103 \u00eemi descoperi secretul sunt sigur c\u0103 te va deprima..&#8221;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\u00cen p\u00e2nza &#8220;Pariso 39&#8221; Garcia amestec\u0103 motivele aflate \u00een con\u015ftiin\u0163a colectiv\u0103, \u00eentr-un enigmatic p\u0103ienjeni\u015f de obiecte \u015fi simboluri sexuale, unele simple ca o lantern\u0103 uitat\u0103 l\u00e2ng\u0103 un banal butoi pu\u0163in apetisant.<\/p>\n<p align=center><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i158.photobucket.com\/albums\/t103\/egophobia\/28\/image005.jpg?w=812\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\nMetoda propus\u0103 este juxtapunerea banalului, cu trivialul, cu subcon\u015ftientul care le  deplaseaz\u0103 \u00een infinite noi constela\u0163ii. Este o sugestie a explor\u0103rii de noi terenuri, a \u00eenc\u0103lc\u0103rii grani\u0163elor culturale, spa\u0163iu \u015fi timp. Obiectele se las\u0103 eliberate de func\u0163ional ele pot deveni metafore, jaloanele unui plan cognitiv a\u015fa cum vedem \u00een &#8220;RUC 7&#8221; .<\/p>\n<p align=center><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i158.photobucket.com\/albums\/t103\/egophobia\/28\/image007.jpg?w=812\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\nSpre sf\u00e2r\u015fitul deceniului 80 Garcia revine la o serie de picturi \u00een stilul catalan.<br \/>\nInova\u0163ia se datoreaz\u0103 mixului cu obiecte din lemn, sau haine g\u0103site pe str\u0103zi.<br \/>\nArabescurile \u015fi culorile deschise, prezente \u00een arta spiritual\u0103 spaniol\u0103 se reg\u0103sesc \u00een picturile seriei XA (1995), XA 74 ne pomene\u015fte de grilajuri de fier elegant executate \u00een spiritul caligrafiei arabe. <\/p>\n<p align=center><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i158.photobucket.com\/albums\/t103\/egophobia\/28\/image010.jpg?w=812\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\u00centre anii 1998-2007, profund dezam\u0103git de comercializarea artei Garcia decide s\u0103 nu expun\u0103 \u00een expozi\u0163ii solo. Continu\u0103 s\u0103 lucreze asiduu \u015fi la mijlocul acestei decade munca sa sufer\u0103 o transfigurare esen\u0163ial\u0103 care rezid\u0103 \u00een apari\u0163ia de linii, puncte \u015fi pete interconectate. Artistul face o tranzi\u0163ie spre abstractul liric dup\u0103 cum \u00eensu\u015fi subliniaz\u0103 :&#8221; \u015ei \u00een timpul lui Pericle oamenii picurau..&#8221; Pentru anumite efecte artistul \u00eenclin\u0103 p\u00e2nza imediat dup\u0103 execu\u0163ie<br \/>\npermi\u0163\u00e2nd fluidului acrilic s\u0103 se scurg\u0103 \u00een imprevizibile r\u00e2uri de culoare ( vezi Bol 17).<\/p>\n<p align=center><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i158.photobucket.com\/albums\/t103\/egophobia\/28\/image011.jpg?w=812\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\nDar spre deosebire de suprafe\u0163ele tratate haotic de americanul Jackson Pollock la Garcia pictura este g\u00e2ndit\u0103 \u015fi reg\u00e2ndit\u0103 frecvent. Este marcat\u0103 de reprezentarea plan\u0103 a altor universuri informa\u0163ionale cum sunt sporii, structurile moleculare, DNA, polenul, semin\u0163ele \u00een v\u00e2nt .. dup\u0103 cum spune chiar artistul: &#8220;Arta trebuie s\u0103 fie o c\u0103utare a purit\u0103\u0163ii, a perfec\u0163iunii \u015fi a esen\u0163ei lucrurilor&#8221;.<br \/>\nExpozi\u0163ia recent deschis\u0103 la Dublin concentreaz\u0103 toate perioadele artei sale polivalente. Munca s\u0103 se rezume \u00eentr-un dic\u0163ionar al simbolurilor excavate din trecut, prelucrate \u00een tumultosul prezent, dar r\u0103m\u00e2n\u00e2nd circumspect la nesiguran\u0163a viitorului.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\nGarcia Sevilla prelucreaz\u0103 folclorul planetar \u00een timp ce probeaz\u0103 limitele picturii ca metod\u0103 de expresie. Tr\u0103ind \u00eentr-o lume inundat\u0103 de mai mult\u0103 informa\u0163ie vizual\u0103 dec\u00e2t con\u015ftiin\u0163a poate prelucra, artistul caut\u0103 s\u0103 adauge excita\u0163ie actului de a vizualiza.
