The waiting is the rub.

Alcoholic son awaits his mother’s arrival in bus station.

On some level, he knows well that he has a problem, and his mother has gone against her husband’s wishes and taken a bus to see her son. She has no illusions about saving him, but simply wants him to know that she’s there and loves him.

Short and to the point, this short story of how a mother’s love can be paramount in a son’s existence.
